Online tools, materials, and handouts will be provided throughout the semester.
Classroom Evaluation
Assignments and Quizzes: 50%; Project: 20% Participation: 10%
Course Objective
This course equips students with the skills to identify and effectively integrate AI tools and online resources into their English learning. Through hands-on experience, students will become aware of key AI tools that support vocabulary building, grammar improvement, writing, reading, listening and speaking. Additionally, the course fosters critical thinking encouraging students to evaluate the accuracy, effectiveness, and ethical implications of AI-generated content. By the end of the semester, students will be able to use AI tools and online resources independently and effectively to support their personal and professional language learning goals.

本課程旨在幫助學生認識並有效運用AI工具與和線上資源於英語學習中。透過實際操作與練習,學生將認識與掌握關鍵AI工具,並將其應於於詞彙學習、文法提升、寫作、閱讀、聽力及口語能力。此外,本課程亦培養學生批判性思考,引導學生評估AI工具在語言學習中的角色,生成內容的準確性,並探討相關學術倫理議題。學期結束時,學生將能夠獨立且有效的運用AI工具,無論在個人英語學習或未來職場應用方面,都能發揮其最大效益。

Course Requirements
  1. Participation and Attendance:
    • Be on time. Arriving more than 15 minutes late will be considered an absence.
    • If you must miss a class due to unavoidable circumstances (e.g., illness, injury, or family emergency), please email me in advance.
  2. Late assignments and make-up tests will not be permitted.
  3. Mobile Phone Usage:
    • Please switch your mobile phone to silent mode during class. Unless it’s being used for dictionary lookup or research, kindly refrain from using it.
  4. Assignments and Quizzes:
    • There will be no written midterm or final exam; however, regular assignments and quizzes will be given.
    • You must be prepared and submit your assignments on time.
